    Open Cockpit Days - August 7-8, 21-22
    Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum opens the cockpits of some of the best vintage aircraft including F-18 Hornet, F-5 Tiger, and CH-46 Sea Knight.  Open Free to the public.

    Key to Culture! Discount museum admissions offered through Omni San Diego Hotel
    Omni San Diego Hotel, located in the Gaslamp District, has partnered with the San Diego Museum Council to launch a Key to Culture program.

    Thoughout 2010, guests at the Omni San Diego Hotel will receive discount admissions to museums including: Birch Aquarium at Scripps, Junipero Serra Museum, LUX Art Institute, Maritime Museum of San Diego, Marston House Museum & Gardens, Mingei International Museum, MCASD, R.H.     Hold At All Costs: The Korean War Battle of Outpost Harry, June 26, 2010-2011, Veterans Museum & Memorial Center
    The defense of "Outpost Harry" entailed a horrendous battle over a nine-day period as Chinese People's Volunteers fought Greek. South Korean and American troops for position and prestige just weeks in advance of the armistice that effectively ended the Korean War.  Accurate reconstructions of the UN and Chinese Bunkers will be on display, accompanied by authentic artifacts and memorabilia gathered from veterans on both sides of the conflict.

    Hunters and Gatherers: Shared Beginnings. April - July, 2010, San Diego Archaeological Center

    For 99% of human history, we lived as hunter-gatherers.  This exhibit explores the hunter-gatherers who lived in the San Diego Region for over 10,000 years in the context of world history.  In an age of increasing emphasis on diversity, it is important to remember that our biological and cultural make-up remain rooted in this shared hunting and gathering lifestyle.

    Pleasure Point: Celebrating 25 Years of Contemporary Collections, through May 16, 2010, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, La Jolla

    Pleasure Point celebrates the achievements of two support groups—the Contemporary and International Collectors—by presenting major highlights of acquisitions they have made possible since 1985. The show features over 30 works in all media by both emerging and prominent artists including photographs by Cindy Sherman, videos by Bill Viola, paintings by John Currin, and installations by Sol LeWitt.
