  1. For the Beer Lover: "Taste of San Diego Craft Brews" event at the San Diego History Center

    The San Diego History Center in Balboa Park is hosting its "Taste of San Diego Craft Brews" fundraiser this Saturday, February 16 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. Beer, food, and sneak peek of their new exhibit "Bottled and Kegged: San Diego's Craft Brew Culture" opening in April, sounds like a beer lover's dream! Tickets are $45.   2. Stars in Her Eyes: "Cosmic Connections" IMAX movie at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center

    Instead of your usual movie night, why not take your date to see "Cosmic Connections" at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center? This IMAX film explores the events behind the birth of the moon and gives viewers a glimpse into the future. Before you leave, be sure to explore some of the hands-on exhibits at the museum.   3. For the Film Buff: "Ramona" screening at Save our Heritage Organisation's Adobe Chapel

    This Saturday, February 16, Save our Heritage Organization is presenting the silent, black and white film "Ramona," at their Adobe Chapel in Old Town. At each of the two screenings, a short presentation will be given about the history of the Adobe Chapel followed by a 20-minute clip of the film. Tickets are $5.

  4. For the Photo Enthusiast: "On the Trail of Ansel Adams" at the San Diego Museum of Natural History

    Head to the San Diego Museum of Natural History to see their new exhibit "On the Trail of Ansel Adams." This exhibit features photographs inspired by the work of this legendary photographer.

  5. For the Military Historian: Kiss Statue and USS Midway Museum

    "Unconditional Surrender," a new bronze statue based on the famous photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square at the end of World War II will be unveiled this Saturday, February 16 at 10:00am.  Nicknamed "The Kiss", the statue is finally back in San Diego after the old statue (on long-term loan) was returned to New Jersey for restoration. From there, head to the USS Midway Museum to see over 60 exhibits and 27 restored aircraft. (P.S.   6. The Nature Lover: Brunch at the Water Conservation Garden

    The Water Conservation Garden in El Cajon is a lovely place for brunch. Pack a romantic picnic and head outside!

  7. The Love Boat: Embark on an Adventure Sail from the Maritime Museum of San Diego

    Set sail on the Maritime Museum of San Diego's Californian, a replica of a schooner that patrolled the California coast during the Gold Rush. The museum offers these four-hour day trips most weekends. For more information visit

    Even if this special someone is your mother, take them to the The Women's Museum of California in their new home in Liberty Station. Their exhibit, "Capturing the Wonder of Women," features the work of local and regional artists and closes on Sunday, February 24.
